We use your account details, shipping details, and design data only to provide LoveBits products, support, and order history.
Signing in with Google, Apple or Facebook. If you choose one of these, that company confirms who you are and shares your name and email address with us. We use them only for your account. We never see your password for that service. Apple may give us a private relay email address instead of your own.
Saved designs. When you save a design, we store the design (names, fonts, colours, layout, and shape template) in your account so you can reopen it later. You can delete a saved design at any time from the Account page; this removes only that saved copy and does not affect orders.
Designs you make without an account. From your first change, we keep a copy of the design on our servers as well as in your browser, so it is not lost if the browser has a problem. It is linked only to a random code in a cookie on this browser (we store a scrambled form of that code, never your name or email). Sign in to move it into your account; then you can open it on any device. If you never sign in, we delete it after 90 days without a change. If you clear your browser before signing in, we can no longer tell the copy is yours, and it is deleted the same way.
Share links. A share link is a long, random code that points to your design; it stores no copy of the design. Anyone you send it to sees the design as it is when they open it and gets their own copy to edit; your changes later show through the link, theirs never reach yours. Recipients do not see your name, email, or account. You can revoke a link from your Account page (a link made before you signed in can be revoked once you sign in): revoking, an expiry date, or deleting the design stops it at once; only the link’s random code and dates remain.
Business & bulk requests. If you send a request from the Business & bulk orders page, we collect your name, email, optional company, occasion, approximate quantity, date needed, your message, and your consent to be contacted. We use this only to reply to your request with a quote and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list.
AI templates. When you use an AI template, your names, LoveBit and outline choices are sent to our image-generation provider to draw the design. The generated previews (which show your names) may be kept for up to 14 days so our team can review quality and fix designs that fail our print checks. A record of the request (the names, the instructions sent and the check results) is kept for up to 90 days for the same purpose. Only LoveBits administrators can see them; they are then deleted automatically.
If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, LoveBits records how you use our site and Studio so we can see which steps are hard, which features people use, and what to improve. This is our own first-party measurement: it is sent only to LoveBits’ own servers, uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and is never sold or shared with advertisers.
What is recorded: the pages you view and for how long; the buttons and menu items you use; when each Studio step starts and ends; your design choices (names you type, their length and writing system, fonts, LoveBits and emoji, colours, palettes and flags, outlines and finishes, templates, magnets, product type); design issues shown and fixes used; downloads, share links, sign-ins and checkout steps (amount and add-ons, never card details); errors and how long the Studio takes to build your design; which Studio menu you use. With each visit we store a random visitor id kept in your browser, your browser’s language(s), the site language, your time zone, screen size, device type, browser and operating system family (not the full browser string), the website that referred you (domain only) and campaign tags in the link.
Where you are: a country code only — from our hosting provider’s country hint when available, otherwise from your browser’s time zone. We do not store your IP address; it is used briefly in memory to limit abuse.
Names: names you type are personal data about you and the people you name. They are recorded only with your consent, are visible only to LoveBits administrators, and are used for statistics such as the most popular names, writing systems and an estimated gender split derived from first names using a public reference list (WGND 2.0). The estimate is only ever shown as totals, never attached to you or your design.
How long: detailed records are deleted automatically after 180 days; only daily totals (counts that identify no one) are kept longer.
Your choices: analytics stays off until you choose “Accept”, and is always off if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can change your mind at any time from Cookie settings in the site footer: choosing “Essential only” stops recording and deletes the records linked to your browser’s visitor id. Closing your account also deletes the usage records linked to it.
lb_ab cookie)Sometimes we try two versions of a page to learn which one people find easier. So that you see the same version on every visit, we use a random number that holds no personal data and is never shared. Before you sign in it is kept in our own first-party cookie called lb_ab (up to 400 days). Once you are signed in, the same number is kept with your account instead, so you see the same version on every device; closing your account deletes it. The cookie is set whether or not you accept analytics, because it only decides which version you see.
If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland we do not set this cookie while you are signed out: you see the standard version until you sign in.
We count which version you saw (and, for example, whether you went on to start an order) only if you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner and your browser sends no Global Privacy Control signal. With “Essential only”, you still see one version, but nothing about it is recorded. Our own staff may also get a short-lived lb_ab_qa cookie when they preview a test; it ends when the browser closes.
Holiday suggestions. To list the holidays celebrated where you are first, we read the country, region and city our hosting provider (Cloudflare) attaches to each page request, and we never store, log or add that place to analytics or look up anything more precise than a city.
Business statistics. To run the shop we also look at the orders, saved designs, share links and requests we already keep to provide the service (for example, which fonts, colours, LoveBits and countries are most popular, and names used in designs). These statistics are produced in aggregate, only LoveBits administrators can see them, and they involve no extra tracking.
Popular layouts and colours. We look at the overall popularity of layouts and colour combinations across designs to suggest new options; never your names. We only count how many different customers made each one, and we keep only those counts and an example with the names replaced. A closed account stops counting at the next count.
To limit abuse, share-link and bulk-request submissions are briefly rate-limited using your network address; that address is held in memory only and is not stored with your request or with analytics.
Payment details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by LoveBits.ai. We do not sell personal information.
Closing your account. You can permanently close your account from the Account page. We then erase your saved designs, share links, gallery photos (the stored picture too), profile, waitlist entries and reminder-email settings, and stop all marketing email immediately. We keep a minimal record that you agreed to and withdrew marketing email (your address only as a one-way hash) for three years. Orders, payments and receipts are kept for seven years because tax law requires it. Once an order is delivered or cancelled we remove its email, gift note and street address and keep only the country and province needed for sales tax; an order still being made keeps them until it is finished. The designs printed for an order are kept as production records.
Gallery photos. Photos you share are re-saved without location or camera data (GPS and device details are removed), and their public address does not contain your account. You can remove a photo yourself at any time from your Account page.
Reminder emails. We send them only if you switch them on. We keep the date, the place and the exact wording you agreed to. Every email carries our postal address and an unsubscribe link.
Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we keep your email, the names you entered, the design you built, your language and country, your referral code and the date and wording you agreed to. The picture of your design can be opened by anyone who has your referral link unless you switch that off. Every waitlist email has an unsubscribe link, and the unsubscribe page lets you delete your details instead.
Ideas and feedback. When you send an idea or feedback, we check that you are a person (Cloudflare Turnstile) and remove names, emails and similar details from the text before an AI model (Anthropic) reads it to sort and score the idea. Approved ideas can be shown publicly.
Who handles data for us. Supabase (database, sign-in and files; hosted in Canada), Cloudflare (file storage and spam checks), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments; your card details never reach us), Resend (emails we send you), Chit Chats and other carriers (your name and delivery address, to ship your order), Google, Apple or Facebook (only if you choose to sign in with them) and Anthropic (ideas text, as described above). Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States.
How long we keep things. Usage analytics: 180 days. Share links: until the expiry date shown when you made them (90 days unless you choose otherwise) or until you revoke them. Designs made without an account: 90 days after the last change, unless you sign in. Reminder-email consent records: three years. Orders, payments and receipts: seven years. Saved designs, gallery photos and waitlist entries: until you delete them or close your account. These periods are our current settings and may change; we will update this page when they do.
Your copy of your data. Signed in, open your Account page and choose “Download my data” to get a file with your saved designs, share links, orders, email choices, gallery photos and notifications. You can do this a few times an hour.
